Daniel L. Tedrick

Legal Experience

Mr. Tedrick has been a practicing attorney in North Carolina since 2000.  Following an early career in complex commercial litigation for AmLaw 50 law firms, Mr. Tedrick formed his present practice in 2006 to serve the legal needs of small to mid-sized corporations and individuals in the areas of commercial litigation, real estate transactions, distressed debt negotiation/loan workout, and general corporate law.

In 2007, Mr. Tedrick was certified by the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission to serve as a Mediator in all cases filed in Superior Court.  To date, Mr. Tedrick has successfully mediated over 200 cases for a wide variety of litigants throughout the state.  In 2008, Mr. Tedrick received an additional certification as an Arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and is an active panel Arbitrator for securities disputes involving or among brokerage firms, brokers or investors.

At both firms, Mr. Tedrick practiced in the area of complex commercial litigation representing various Fortune 500 companies and industry leaders in the finance, energy, insurance and construction industries.  As a litigator, Mr. Tedrick successfully and zealously represented these clients in discovery matters, dispositive motions, requests for injunctive relief, alternative dispute resolution, and trial practice. He also devoted significant time to Pro Bono practice representing victims of domestic violence for Charlotte’s Battered Women’s Shelter.


Business Experience

Mr Tedrick is the founder, Chief Executive and General Counsel for the Endeavor Companies, a group of boutique investment firms located in Charlotte, North Carolina.  Founded in 2007, Mr. Tedrick built these highly specialized enterprises from the ground up, leveraging his legal background with intimate knowledge of the banking industry’s mortgage debt liquidation policies and the Charlotte real estate market.  To date, the Endeavor Companies have successfully negotiated over $200,000,000 in distressed debt and real estate transactions.

Mr. Tedrick is a seasoned litigator with experience in all phases of commercial litigation in both state and federal court.  His present practice focuses on evaluating potential claims and advising corporations and individuals in the early phases of disputes to best position clients for the critical decision of wether to pursue or defend formal legal actions or work towards a negotiated resolution through various early stage ADR alternatives.  Mr. Tedrick regularly appears in court for existing clientele but is not currently taking on new trial practice clients.

Mr. Tedrick represents a variety of clients in commercial and residential real estate transactions on matters ranging from drafting and negotiation of purchase agreements, disputes among parties to a transaction, to closing and post-closing issues affecting title.  Mr. Tedrick has a wealth of experience in resolving complex title issues such as judgments, liens and over leveraged debt.  Additionally, Mr. Tedrick represents investment companies in the purchase of real estate backed debt facilities involving both residential and commercial paper.

During the Great Recession of the late 2000’s, Mr. Tedrick became an expert in the specialized practice area of real estate debt workout, helping hundreds of homeowners and businesses navigate the complex process of foreclosure, short sale, lien negotiation, and loan modification.  The reality is that while the downturn in the economy prompted a spike in the percentage of distressed real estate, individuals and corporations continue to face challenges with debt workout stemming from hardships that can arise in any economic environment.  Today, Mr. Tedrick advises commercial and residential property owners threatened with the loss of business or home through overly burdensome debt, liens, or foreclosure.

Mr. Tedrick advises mid-sized and small corporations on all matters of general corporate law with a focus on corporate formation and structure, M&A and JV agreements, procurement contracts, and winding up of corporate operations.

Mr. Tedrick is a seasoned Mediator and Arbitrator having been called on to resolve hundreds of disputes filed both in Superior Court in North Carolina and FINRA arbitration forums throughout the country (see Mediation Services page).  Mr. Tedrick also represents clients engaged in the ADR process both as primary counsel and as a specialized ADR consultant.
